Venue Workshop

The workshop and the colloquium will be held in lecture hall F303 in the main building of Leibniz University.  Click here for the location of the main building and here for the location of the lecture hall within the building.

The street address is Welfengarten 1, 30167 Hannover, Germany.

To Get There

From the Railway Station Hannover Hauptbahnhof: Leave the train station through the main entrance at “Ernst August Platz”. Walk (orthogonal to the station) about 400m into the city to the subway-station “Kröpcke”. Enter the station. Take the escalator at the very left to go all the way down to the lowest floor. There take the subway 4 (direction “Garbsen”) or the subway 5 (direction “Stöcken”). “Leibniz Universität” is the third stop, after “Steintor” and “Königsworther Platz”.

If you have a train ticket marked “+City” then you will not need to buy a ticket for the subway. Otherwise it is enough to buy a short trip ticket (“Kurzstrecke”, presently 1.70€).

The subway stops right across from the main building (Welfenschloss) of the university. Enter through the main entrance between the two lions.  Go straight through the hall and take the stairs upstairs. Enter the corridor on the left. The lecture hall is at the end.

Alternatively, a taxi from the railway station will be about 15€.

From Hannover Airport (HAJ).  Go to the S-Bahn station below Terminal C. Purchase a ticket 'Einzelticket AB'. The price is 4.00€. Take the S-Bahn to Hannover Hauptbahnhof. Then follow the instructions above. The ticket is good for both trips, from the airport to Hannover Hauptbahnhof and from Kröpcke to the University.

Alternatively, a taxi will cost you about 45€.

In case you plan to have more trips in the city: A ticket that is valid all day on all trains, trams and buses in Tariff Area AB is  "Tageskarte (AB)" for presently 8.00€.  For more information and an option to buy tickets online see www.gvh.de

Venue Conference Dinner

The Conference Dinner will take place at the Garden Hall (Gartensaal) of the New City Hall (Neues Rathaus) in Hannover. The street address is
Neues Rathaus, Trammplatz 2, 30159 Hannover

To get there. Walking there from the University will take about 30 min.
Alternatively, take the street car from the stop 'Leibniz Universität' in direction 'Anderten' or 'Roderbruch' and exit at the stop 'Ägidientorplatz'. From there it is a  10 min walk to the New City Hall. Instead of walking this last distance, you can take Bus 120 from 'Agidientorplatz' to 'Rathaus/Friedrichswall' which is right across the street from the New City Hall.
